Why does King’s Army have

Ranks

Our ranks immediately inform someone of remit & responsibility. . In the church we have rank: bishop, arch deacon, deacon, elder. In every other service there is rank and title to denote honour, respect, training level, and authority. In the kingdom of God it is no different: there is rank, spiritual authority, honour, levels of responsibility, the difference is that in the Kingdom we rule and lead with the heart of a servant and serve with the heart of a King. We are ultimately brothers and sisters in Christ and Jesus is our King and leader.

Uniform

You don’t need a uniform to evangelise or represent Jesus and His Kingdom, but yet every other emergency service has a uniform: the police, the ambulance service, the fire brigade. These secular uniforms are worn with pride, reverence and for good reason - to stand out, to make operatives easily identifiable. Likewise, King’s Army evangelists and disciple makers leave a trace of grace and a memorable marker for where people can come when they need help, healing, deliverance and salvation.

Drill

Drill and Ceremony instills unity and removes individuality. It reinforces that the mission is larger than one person and a team is needed for success. It instills discipline, teamwork, unity, esprit de corps (the “spirit” that embodies a unit and the honor of belonging). Drill is “many” moving as “one”, we cease to be a group of individuals and become an orderly, focused unit in one accord.
